Fox in a Glove were tickled orange to be asked to make a made-to-measure wedding dress for one of our clients, Ellie, who had searched high and low for the perfect dress but had always come home disappointingly empty-handed.
“Sometimes it was the fit, sometimes the fabric - I just didn’t want a boring, run-of-the-mill shiny white wedding dress and so many I tried on just didn’t really do anything for me! Every bride wants to feel really confident on her wedding day and having used Fox in a Glove for a variety of made-to-measure clothes over the last year I decided to meet their designer to see if she could help me solve my wedding dress problem! Oh, and I only had 3 months to go. We set the marriage date for the start of February and I first met Klaudia in November, so we all had to work fast!”
With many bespoke wedding dress designers requiring even up to a year’s notice, Klaudia, Fox in a Glove’s designer, decided to take on the challenge of creating and crafting one stunning bespoke wedding dress in just over 12 weeks! Klaudia met Ellie for a consultation in London. Within minutes they were getting down to the fundamentals - over coffee and within striking distance of a pile of magazines and Pinterest, Klaudia and Ellie made it a priority to understand what was the ‘vibe’ she wanted. The no-no’s were discussed and discounted. Ellie was adamant she didn’t want sleeves, but didn’t want a summery feel to the dress as the wedding would be in early February.
Klaudia realised quickly that Ellie wanted a traditional, but unusual dress, also that she was open to using an unexpected fabric and that she prized an elegant silhouette (without sleeves of course!) and that she would love help with styling the whole outfit, down to the tiny details.
After the initial consultation, Klaudia got her drawing pencils out, crafting several options based on their initial consultation and drawing on inspirations far and wide, including even a black billowing beach dress! Ellie quickly felt that Klaudia had ‘got’ it - and even agreed to using a little pop of colour. The pair then arranged to take a private shopping trip down the fabric-tastic Berwick Street. A stunning ivory French silk that Klaudia describes as ‘having a grainy texture like tree-bark’ was found and instantly loved. The shopping trip was followed by a sleepless night for our favourite Foxy fabric fetishist - as she wondered just how to sew this incredible and unusually textured fabric, and that it needed a “little of something else extraordinary”. This perfect detail was found in the form of an exquisite embroidered insert featuring sapphire-blue beaded flowers - a little nod to the gorgeous ring Ellie’s fiancé had given her that summer. The flowers were a playful, daring addition to the long, elegant style of the dress which Klaudia skilfully inserted along the waist and at the high-cut neck. The deep blue colour kept the dress in tone for a winter wedding. Ellie loved them - phew!
Dress consultations followed, with Klaudia sewing the calico and constructing the dress from start to finish. Necklines were adjusted and a silk lining that had a subtle stiffness to it was procured - meaning the dress would ‘stand’ a little at the bottom, making it a dream to walk around in.
By now London’s skies were decidedly wintry and Susy - Fox in a Glove’s art director - and Klaudia were sent shopping for the perfect accompaniments to the dress. They scoured vintage shops in Islington and Notting Hill and found a variety of the whacky, wonderful and weird. Photographs of finds were sent immediately to the bride-to-be who could give a thumbs up or down, or just have a laugh as she cracked on with her busy job, knowing the wedding outfit details were being taken care of by our Foxy paws.
The bride decided to eschew wearing a veil, and took a wonderful suggestion from her sister-in-law for a gorgeous puffy feather stole. Fox in a Glove helped the bride find the ideal pair of blue, broken-glass structure shoes - echoing the strong structural elements in the gown and taking her easily from the church to the dance-floor!
Ellie has kindly let us use pictures of her gorgeous day so you can see for yourself how stunning she looked. Klaudia was thrilled to hear the ultimate compliment - that many people loved the dress and said that it was ‘very her.’ We hope that if you’re interested in finding your sartorial match-made-in-heaven for your big day, you won’t hesitate to contact Fox in a Glove for our bespoke bridal services.

Hello Foxy friends! We are buzzing here at Fox in a Glove following the launch of our first ever fashion film, Night Fox. We screened the film at our London Fashion Week party, kindly hosted by the sumptuous Sanctum Soho Hotel, and fueled by the superbly delicious Arbikie drinks - those divine Arbikie gin and vodka cocktails - including our very own bespoke cocktail made with one of the top 10 vodkas in the world, according to GQ magazine - ensured the evening was extra special. We couldn’t wait to share the film with you - here it is
starring the rising star DJ and singer-songwriter Levanna McLean, also known as Northern Soul Girl.
Last year we had the great pleasure of working with film team Frantz Smith on our ‘how to measure yourself’ film and together we decided to take it to the next level by creating our very own, bespoke fashion film to carry our Foxy clothes and message that women of all shapes and sizes deserve beautifully-crafted and individual, expressive clothes out into the world! It was wonderful to hear that Levanna was interested in taking the lead role - her energy, beauty and those amazing dancing feet were just what we were looking for!
As you can see we wanted to create something that embodies the playful nature that lies at the heart of what we do. It’s a spoof on nature documentary, wonderfully narrated by John de Holland. Diva Jeffrey and Alex Headford wrote and sang the track which Levanna dances to in the film. Also it’s not often you get to see someone eating in a fashion film, right?! Real clothes for real women, that’s what we love and that’s what we do.
Everything Levanna wore in the film was perfectly made to her measure. All of the clothes she is wearing are currently available online, click on our Shop page to get the looks! We wanted Nightfox to express the incredible, energy of our home city London - it was fun looking for locations from East to West London, unearthing both secret corners and including iconic vistas, as seen through the eyes of an urban night fox. Over a couple of cold, windy November nights (Levanna you were a trooper with those bare legs!) our crew traversed the city: our film glimpses at the post-clubbing streets of Shoreditch, the Barbican, Albert Bridge, Victoria railway lines, the Regency Cafe in Westminster (where a famous scene from Layer Cake was filmed - kudos to you if you spotted that reference!) and Notting Hill which is where Fox in a Glove originally hails from. As any Londoner knows, our city is a collection of villages and a melting pot of talents, energies and individuals. Allow Night Fox to take you on a discerning journey outside of and beyond the day-time throngs, with Levanna’s fancy footwork leading the way.
We’ve enjoyed a great reaction to the film at its first screening. Here it is now for you to enjoy and we do hope you’d like to share with your social media networks. As always you can contact us at email@example.com
Huge thanks to everyone involved and we look forward to hearing your foxy feedback!

Late last year we held the first Urban Fox Hunt, where a group of women came to our W11 studio to browse, bond and buy!
We opened the doors of our Notting Hill studio and welcomed a wonderful group of women into our Foxy space (our mascot Fox pup Marlo was there, charming everyone) to spend a morning chatting over canapés and cocktails (now called Fox-tails!), with free personal fittings by our designer Klaudia Trz and a chance to try on all of the latest Fox in a Glove collection.
The clothes flew off the rails - with many girls leaving in their new FIAG garms! The burgundy Claudia dress was a popular choice, and the Cleopatra dress which we recently reimagined in two new colours - wine red and bottle green - sold out. Don't worry though, we've re-stocked and it'll be on our website very, very soon.
Annabel Hudson, who chose a Cleopatra dress in wine red, said "I spent most of Fox in a Glove’s brunch trying on clothes and chatting to other women who were doing the same! Klaudia was on-hand to measure us and offer advice and as we were all different shapes and sizes, it was easy to work out what suited each one of us best, when we’d seen the same dress on someone else. It was like personal shopping with loads of other like-minded women. So much more fun than traipsing around the shops."
With a nod to the retro Avon parties, we love the bringing together of great people so rest assured that we will be holding the Urban Fox Hunts regularly: we can even organise one at your work-place in a lunch-break, or one evening/weekend in your home - don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like us to create a bespoke meet-up, to your taste and requirements!
Another Fox in a Glove client, Amelia Walker, enthused: "As the proud owner of two FiaG dresses, I was delighted to head over to Westbourne Grove on a November Saturday to meet other Fox fans, and talk life and fashion over bubbly and canapés. The best part of the afternoon was the new collection, all the fun of trying on clothes with your friends without any of the hassle. It was so relaxing because you know Klaudia will never let you try something that wouldn't suit you. Instant love for a burgundy velvety number ensued. Although it already fit well Pret a Porter, Klaudia is brilliant at knowing what little adjustments will make it fit like a glove. Suffice it to say since it arrived, I can't seem to see any other clothes in my wardrobe, apart from the first two FiaGs of course!!”
Also note that now we are producing our collection in standard ready to wear sizes (small UK8-10, medium UK10-12 and large UK12-14) so if you feel like you fit a ready-to-wear size, or if you'd like to get the full made-to-measure service - we are delighted to offer both, win-win!

Newsflash! Fox in a Glove are delighted to announce that we are now offering a brand new service: bespoke workwear for any business, company or workplace that would like a 'uniform' for its female employees. No job too big or small!
As you know we specialise in creating modern, stylish, affordable made to measure women clothes which fit women perfectly - just as they are! - making them feel comfortable and amazing. It's our next natural step to extend what we do into the workplace - for work Foxes everywhere!
Happy Fox in a Glove customers regularly report back to us on how great they feel when a piece of clothing is specifically made to their measurements. The experience of knowing a garment has been made with you in mind adds a touch of luxury and a frisson of pleasure to getting dressed in the morning. Re-connecting with clothes and making the most of your individual shape is the life-force behind our retro-inspired made to measure clothes label - and we think wherever a female uniform is required, ditching the mundane and frequently ill-fitting offerings of the high street for a perfectly crafted, beautiful bespoke design will make everyone happier!
Recently we were honoured to be asked to create a set of bespoke dresses for the reception team at Jason Atherton's stunning art deco inspired restaurant and bar, City Social, high up in Tower 42 in the heart of London.
With sweeping views over some of London's most iconic landmarks we made it our made to measure mission to create stunning outfits for the young women that complimented and enhanced the beautiful interior design, as well as reflecting the culture and atmosphere of this prestigious restaurant. Our design team went and met with the managers and the young women on the reception team in a personal consultation meeting to determine the needs and duties of the staff - all of which informed our dress designs on a practical level. Comfortable, stylish staff are happy staff in our book! We used the surroundings, as well the ethos and culture of Jason Atherton's restaurant business, to inform and inspire our design - ensuring a true bespoke experience. Once everyone was happy with the final design, we created two bespoke dresses for each of the girls, each cut specifically to their individual measurements and tweaked to their liking in person by our head designer. We think the smiles on their faces say it all!
Andy Downton, Manager at City Social, said: "When we decided to change our reception uniform I wanted to have something bespoke and unique, something that the team could feel good in, and that's what Fox in a Glove delivered us; the new uniforms look amazing and our guests always comment on how different and classy they look. The team at Fox in a Glove were both professional and friendly and we look forward to working with them in the future."
So do we!
If you or someone you know would like Fox in a Glove to design and create bespoke workwear, then don't hesitate to get in touch by email: firstname.lastname@example.org - thank you!

Fox in a Glove is on a mission. We started Fox in a Glove because we're women - and like many women out there - we got tired of clothes that don't fit, sold to us by retailers that make us feel like our bodies have to conform to a number on a coat hanger, and that dissatisfying "there-one-minute-gone-the-next" feeling when you buy yet another piece of 'fast fashion'. Perhaps you recognise the slight nagging feeling when you hand over your credit card at the till: you don't know who made it, you might only wear it twice, you'll probably see three other people in the street in it over the next month, then it turns to a rag in the wash. We want to give women the chance to re-connect with their clothes - and, perhaps, we hope - themselves. Body positivity, ladies!
We realised that lots of girl-mates felt the same - we wanted to create clothes that not only fit and look fab, but make you feel like the very best version of yourself...and this is the crunch (no we're not talking about those sit-ups)...clothes that fit you perfectly JUST AS YOU ARE!
When we created Fox in a Glove we slowed right down. Fashion-wise we wanted to catch our breath and realise all the beautiful details that go into making a made-to-measure garment, instead of just another piece from a High Street store. We refer to it amongst ourselves as "slow fashion" and it all centres on focusing on the details, and reconnecting with the clothes that we wear. For a start, all of our fabrics are hand chosen by our designer. They look and feel great and we know they will last for a long time. Many of our clothes are beautifully lined in Italian cupro - which makes clothes slip on, sit comfortably and allows your skin to breathe. We think these details make all the difference. We are savvy about where we source our fabrics so we can keep our made-to-measure service as accessible as possible, with our garments at high street price-points. We're always scouring markets and fabric emporiums across Europe to find special, unusual fabrics and then, most importantly, we know who is making your clothes. We work very closely with our super-talented seamstresses, who create your clothes in ethical, progressive workspaces where they are paid fairly and enjoy their work. We hope to introduce you to some of the fantastic women we work with very soon here on the blog page! Once your items are ready, we check them ourselves, and wrap them in our special paper and boxes and pop them in the post to you - it takes a little longer than yet another lunch-break Insta-buy, but we really hope it's worth the wait.
Our designs are carefully constructed to optimise a variety of body-shapes. The curve of the a-line on our asymmetrical skirt, for example, or the exact cut of the pencil skirt and the figure skimming shape of our dress are all products of years of research and consciously constructed because we know they will set your proportions off perfectly. Combined with carefully chosen, charming and individual fabrics, cut to your individual measure and made in a happy work environments, we hope you'll agree that this adds up to something rather special and unlike anything else - like you, just as you are.
Hello everyone! Welcome to Fox in a Glove. We are excited to open our brightly coloured doors and offer you our first collection of made to measure garments.
We first had the idea for creating a made to measure womenswear label when we realised that our friends, as well as ourselves, felt like there was something ‘more’ out there than the usual high street shopping experience. While it can be fun, fast and frivolous - sometimes we just felt a bit, well, “meh” about what we were trying on. Our friends mentioned the difficulty of finding clothes that truly fit – when you’re a 12 in one place, but a 14 in another perhaps – or a variety of so-called ‘sizes’! - the tyranny of the changing room and the dictation of clothes-by-numbers can mean a difficult, as well as disappointing, shopping experience.
We hope to change this by offering you clothes that don’t cost more than many high-street items, but each one will be made to measure – your perfect, unique measure, no number required!
Our fetish for fabrics means that each of the materials chosen are not widely available: sometimes we’ve gone as far as Italy to find the last rolls available. It’s important to us that each fabric is special and individual, and that the pieces themselves can be re-worn time and time again. Whether it’s on the dance-floor, on a date, in the office or at a party we’ve endeavoured to create garments that flatter your figure, make you feel fab and can be dressed up or down, according to your individual taste. In a homogenised world, where the high street and online shops can look and feel the same, we would like to offer playful, beautifully designed clothes that give you back a personal connection to what you’re wearing, and hopefully a smile and swish of the hips to boot.
We’re dying to hear from you! Thoughts, comments, feedback welcome. If you’ve got any questions about what might suit you we can help you with personal styling advice and we’re available every day to answer your questions. You can drop us a line, send us a pic – our made to measure clothes come with a complimentary styling service. Enjoy!
